MY CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE FOR 2024

MY CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE FOR 2024

This holiday season, it's the simple act of coming together that holds the most meaning—reconnecting with loved ones and making memories. In the spirit of the season, here is my curated collection of gifts for all the art lovers, homewares-obsessed and interior design aficionados out there!

1. L'Escargot Cutlery Set from Maison Balzac
Founded by French-born, Sydney-based Elise Pioch Balzac, Maison Balzac is beloved for their blend of quirky, french-inspired design with high-quality craftsmanship. This ‘L’Escargot’ stainless steel cutlery set is the perfect sweet and eclectic gift.

2. Halo Tray in Travertine from Black Blaze
Another brand I always go to when I’m looking for a gift is Black Blaze, which makes beautiful homewares, candles and fragrance. Their Halo tray is crafted from travertine and makes a lovely addition to a bedside table to store jewellery,  a catch-all in the hallway, or even a chic fruit bowl.

3. ‘Retreat: Inspired Homes and Ways of Living’ by Lucy Glade-Wright
Design expert Lucy Glade-Wright’s book ‘Retreat: Inspired Homes and Ways of Living’ is a divine collection of 24 homes that are sanctuaries away from the bustle of city living. From a Balinese villa to a converted bus, this book showcases diverse escapes and shares insights into their owners’ lifestyles.

4. Habitats: City, Coast and Forest from The Local Project
The Local Project has done it again with another beautiful publication. A trio of hardcover books, Habitats: City, Coast and Forest showcases stunning examples of architecture across Australia, New Zealand, North America and Canada that sit seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

5. Elena Strohfeldt Ceramics
Based in Melbourne, self-taught ceramic artist Elena Strohfeldt handcrafts vessels from raw clay finished in textured earthy tones like brown, cream, and sand. A piece from Elena is always on my wishlist!

6. Hey Folks Dad Cap from Folk Studio
How cute is this cap from Folk Studio? Made with 100% cotton in a rich chocolate hue, one of these caps makes for the perfect stocking filler.

7. Anguili Vessel from Ignem Terrae Ceramics
This unique piece is crafted from dark red mid-fire stoneware with a gloss burgundy interior glaze. Handmade in Sydney the Anguili vase is perfect for displaying floral arrangements or as a striking piece of sculpture.

8. & 9. Atmospheric No.15 and Atmospheric 25 by Anna Curnuck
These two paintings by Sydney-based artist Anna Curnuck are some of my favourites of her abstract works which explore a blend of serene neutral tones. Her paintings draw inspiration from personal experiences and her surroundings and each piece will bring soul to your, or your loved one’s, space.

10. & 11. Waiting and Immerse by David Hardy

Based in Wales, artist David Hardy’s work takes inspiration from the landscape surrounding his studio. This lovely painting is an interrogation of depth, tone and texture, ideal for the art-lover in your life.

12 & 13. Wabi Sabi Wall Fold CM879 and Wabi Sabi Folded Brass Wall Sculpture CM881 by Clementine Machonachie
Kick-start your loved one’s art collection with one of these breathtaking pieces by Sydney artist Clementine Machonachie. Crafted with aluminium and brass Clementine’s talent for blurring the lines between soft and rigid is on full display.

14 & 15. Fresco. 2 and Fresco 3 by Thibault Perrigne
Ever since I discovered Thibault’s work while on a work trip to Paris earlier this year, I can’t get enough of his beautiful work. Created with plaster, Thibault’s work is gestural, figurative and I think, magic!

16.
Tuberose Candle from Loewe
The ultimate little luxury, Loewe’s Tuberose scented candle is housed in a hand-finished ceramic vessel that is a gift in itself. A delicious mix of white floral notes with bright green herbaceous undertones combine to create a fresh summer scent.

17.
Classic Trim Hoops in Gold from Linden Cook
Everyone needs a pair of gold hoops, and this pair from Melbourne studio Linden Cook are the perfect balance of a classic piece that makes a statement. Their organic shape makes them unique and adds a touch of contemporary elegance to your outfit.

18.
Rose Roche Eau de Parfum by Diptyque from Mecca.
Lemon, rose and patchouli create a heady floral bouquet in Diptyque’s Rose Roche EDP. Adorned with a beautiful rose illustration, the bottle might be the best part, making a sweet addition to the bedside or bathroom cabinet.
