Hollywood Regency Style Side Table, Tommaso Barbi, 1970s
The sculptural Hollywood Regency side table by Italian designer Tommaso Barbi, c1970s, known for his refined use of materials including brass, ceramic and glass, Barbi’s work embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of late 20th-century Italian design.
This piece features Barbi’s signature spiral ceramic form, reminiscent of a twisted rope, accented with brass detailing and topped with glass. The interplay of texture and finish creates a sense of movement and visual interest, balancing decorative richness with a considered, architectural structure.
Rooted in the Hollywood Regency aesthetic, the design reflects a style defined by glamour, contrast and material expression, often incorporating metallic finishes and sculptural forms.
Sourced in Europe, this original vintage side table brings authenticity, character and a strong design presence to the interior. Ideal as a statement side table or occasional piece, it works effortlessly within both contemporary and layered, vintage-inspired spaces.
A highly collectible example of 1970s Italian design, with Tommaso Barbi pieces increasingly sought after and rarely available in Australia.
