The Piddocks is a sculptural ceramic vessel by Fernando Salas of FDO Studio, hand-built using white stoneware clay and finished in a soft satin glaze. The piece draws inspiration from piddocks—a curious group of marine shellfish that burrow into soft rock and clay. Over time, their abandoned dwellings become sanctuaries for other small marine life, symbolising transformation and quiet resilience.
This vessel embodies that poetic cycle. Its organic form and matte finish evoke a sense of coastal minimalism, making it a striking standalone piece or a serene addition to a layered interior vignette.
