Pit-fired in collaboration with local ceramicists Fiona Cuthbert O’Meara from Naturemuse Studio, this sculptural work is sealed with black ash and beeswax, enhancing its rich, organic texture.

Process: Pit firing is one of the oldest methods of pottery making, where vessels are placed in an open fire with natural materials such as wood, salt, and seaweed to create unpredictable, beautiful surface markings. Each sculpture bears the signature of its firing process — an artful interplay between earth, fire, and craftsmanship — ensuring no two pieces are ever alike.
