Emily Belle Ellis is a Sydney-based ceramicist whose practice centres on hand-built stoneware vessels and objects. Her introduction to clay began while studying a Bachelor of Design at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW, where she majored in Textiles and Object Design. What began as a move away from digital processes evolved into a dedicated ceramics practice grounded in material and form.

Emily Belle Ellis creates contemporary ceramics that feel organic in silhouette and grounded in everyday use. Hand-building is central to her process, allowing each piece to develop individually rather than being replicated. Working with stoneware clays and high-fired glazes, she produces vases, bowls and objects that emphasise texture, proportion and surface.

Her work sits between art and function, where each piece contributes both visually and practically within a space. Subtle variations in form and finish reflect the handmade process, giving each object a distinct presence.

Today, Emily Belle Ellis’ ceramics are recognised for their sculptural quality and material sensitivity, offering pieces that bring depth and a tactile element into contemporary interiors.
